History:

Known by another name, Murud-Janjira, Janjira Murud is a 17th-century naval stronghold that is regarded as one of the strongest in all of India. Malik Ambar was an Abyssinian minister who worked for the Sultan of Ahmednagar. His descendants later extended the fort.

Janjira Murud is unique because of its unbreakable construction, which was intended to stave off multiple invasion attempts by different maritime nations, such as the Portuguese, Marathas, and British.
