History:

Pushkar is regarded as one of the oldest cities still in existence in India, giving it great historical value. Legends link it to Lord Brahma, the universe’s creator, in Hindu mythology, where it first appeared.

The holy lake in the center of the city, Pushkar Lake, is said to have formed from a lotus blossom that Lord Brahma dropped. Pushkar became a well-known pilgrimage destination over the ages, drawing both traders and pilgrims.

By Train: The nearest railway station is in Ajmer, around 11 kilometers away. Ajmer is well-connected to major cities like Delhi, Jaipur, and Mumbai. From Ajmer, you can hire a taxi or take a local bus to reach Pushkar.

By Road: Pushkar is well-connected by road to major cities in Rajasthan and neighboring states. State-run buses, as well as private taxis, are available for travel to Pushkar.

Best Time to Visit: The winter months of October through March are the ideal times to visit Pushkar because of the excellent weather that makes it ideal for taking in the city’s sights and engaging in outdoor activities.
