Rani Ki Vav was built during the 11th century AD by Queen Udayamati in memory of her husband, King Bhimdev I of the Solanki dynasty. This stepwell was not only a functional water resource but also served as a place of spiritual and social gathering.

The stepwell was buried under layers of silt for centuries until it was rediscovered in the 1980s. Since then, extensive restoration work has been carried out to bring back its former glory, and today it stands as a testament to the rich heritage of Gujarat.
